This past weekend I was able to go home for Easter. It was nice to talk to my uncle in person over coffee. Being a football player himself in college one of the first thing he always asks me is, how much are you weighing these days? He is always telling me I need to put on more weight and is constantly putting food in my face to eat. We spent about the first 30 minutes talking about football and the meaning of Easter then we started to dive into what I am passionate about.
This past spring I really began the search to find a summer internship/job. As a business/economics major I am really passionate about learning about how business works on the micro level and dealing with numbers but I do not know exactly what I want to specifically go into. My uncle owns a real estate company and he brings a lot of experience and knowledge to the table, so we started talking about real estate. I happened to also be looking for a real estate internship at the time and he really provided great insight to what real estate looks like on a day to day basis. It was amazing to hear about his experiences in the business world and his successes and failures. He really helped me solidify my interest in real estate and I look forward to learning about the different aspects real estate has to offer.
I plan to pursue a job in real estate this summer working for a local company. I know my uncle will be one phone call away to answer any questions I may have about real estate. I am excited to pursue my interests and to see what God has in store for me.
Chase, its also a good time to be back in town with family for the holidays and to have a mentor that you have so much in common with. I think that you went about talking to your uncle in a really nice manner you didnt ask for a job with him but you did ask for pointers as to how you could get into the real estate field. Nice post.
ReplyDeleteChase,
ReplyDeleteThere's so much to learn in the field of Real Estate, so great to hear you are beginning to explore that. I love it. Your uncle seems like just the type of guy you'd like to lean from!
