The person I chose to be my mentor throughout this semester is my step-dad. My step-dad has a long history in the business world as he has started and managed a few of his own companies. Running a self own businesses  in construction can be rewarding but it takes a lot for one to run their own company. Throughout the meetings and phone calls that I have has with him we have discussed the hardships, challenges and rewards that goes into the owning a business. Recently, I have found an interest in his self owned company because I have officially declared a business major and I have become the next in line to run the company. Receiving news like this from him was a shock as well as an honor. This has placed a huge amount of stress and concern for my future plans but also excites me for a huge opportunity I have been given. As we have continued to discuss these ideas about the future it has brought our relationship closer and we continue to build off of the common interests we have.
