My last meeting with my uncle was on the phone this afternoon and we talked about how the process of being mentored and having someone to share life with never ends. My uncle has an old lifelong friend who he talks to on a regular basis. They talk on a regular basis about life, their relationships with God and their businesses. They encourage each other and share stories about how God is working in their lives, they also are there for each other during family issues and struggles in life. Throughout life they have used their different business experiences to help each other in their own professions, sharing wisdom and knowledge with each other to better improve their businesses. When I look at my life after college I want my uncle to continue mentoring me, as well as my dad.

We also talked about how it's important to have friends in your life to walk along side of you and I know I have created relationships here at Wheaton that will last a lifetime. One day, if Gods plan for me is to enter the business world, I know my uncle and my dad will be a great source to go to with any questions I have. They will be my business coaches in a sense. They can help assist me in the growth and development of my business career and offer many years of insight and experience for me in the future. As for the lifelong friendships I have created here at Wheaton I know I will have these men to lean on in hard times in life. They will be there to help me, share life with me, and share my faith with.

  1. Charles,
Thanks for sharing. I think its great that you have people and mentors really close to you, who you can trust to give you business advice in the future. I know I am in the same boat as you and value the relationships I have with my dad and other mentors. I think that this will really help you in the future and will help you grow in whatever business or position you are in.
