I met with Nathan yesterday bright and early at Saga for an
8 am meal. We grabbed our omelets and made our way to our table. Nathan and I
started off with small talk like what we did this past weekend, summer, and how
often people grab the wrong omelet. Sadly, this was our last meeting this year.
We chatted about this past year and about its ups and downs. One thing we
talked about that was huge for me was relationships. I have made many great
relationships this past year with people on the basketball team, on my floor,
and people in my classes. Nathan expressed to me that it is important to create
and maintain relationships after college. He also expressed to me that it is
important to create relationships in the business world early on. It is
necessary to develop relationships while I am still in college and develop my
own network and “web”. I can achieve this by connecting in the WIN, talking
with my professors, and talking to my dad (a businessman). My meetings with
Nathan have been helpful and have releases stress this past year. I’m excited
to continue this mentorship for next year.
Kobe,

We need people in our lives to help shape our lives and to encourage us throughout thought tough times. These relationship, no matter if their in your personal life or business life, help you further yourself personally and professionally. I'm happy that you have found some comfort in your meetings with your mentor and that he has offered you useful advice that you can use later down the road.
