#2

Last week I met with Mitch for lunch in Saga. After spending at least 20 minutes trying to find a table to sit at we got our food and the conversation began. At first we had talked about our recent mission trip we had taken to Cuba with the Football team over spring break. Both of us had the most amazing time. While there, we painted 2 churches and fostered relationships with the people of the church “Los Pinos Nuevos”. We also were able to host a youth activity every night and taught the kids how to play football. Mitch and I reflected on the debriefs that our leaders held for us at night. Each night we would gather in a circle and have a few people share their testimonies and their life story. After this, we discussed how we had been spiritually with God since the mission trip. I had been struggling to make reading His word and spending time with Him a priority as of late, and again reflected on how the people of Cuba made it the number one priority in their daily life and encouraged me to think of that every time I think I am too busy to make time for the Lord.

  1. Mason,

The missions trip you went on sounded like it had a great impact on you and other football players. I'm glad you have a friend like Mitch to debrief some of the thoughts and feelings you have regarding the trip and your faith. I also think your meaningful reflection about the people is interesting. It is great that you are trying to apply what you leaned in Cub to your life now. I hope you and Mitch can continue to connect like you have been this semester. Thanks for sharing.
